YOUTUBE - THE SITUATION IN VARIOUS PARTS OF KENYA As the videos below show, the violence in Kenya is widespread and not isolated to one or two parts of the country... All of these areas desperately need humanitarian aid, with Rift Valley currently requiring the most attention from humanitarian aid organizations. Kisumu needs UN troops and increased media coverage. It is currently under lockdown by Kenyan and Ugandan police and military. We continue to wonder what the Ugandan military is doing in Kisumu. Without UN troops and increased media coverage, the situation in Kisumu has the potential to become very dangerous. As we all know, Ugandan dictator Yoweri Museveni detests the idea of Raila Odinga being Kenya's president and is a strong Kibaki supporter. He is also the only African leader to congratulate Kibaki on his "presidency." ------------- Humanitarian crisis in the Rift Valley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VbgGqYu5d4&feature=user -Wangara Maathai rises to the occasion, calling on Kibaki to negotiate with Raila and for the government police and military to protect Kenyans - A Red Cross official calls for removal of road blocks and end to ethnic violence Uneasy Calm Returns to Kisumu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqRp7DkfrA0&feature=user Coast Aftermath http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1yiTx46rEY&feature=user - Thank you to NTV Kenya!
