What didn't we gain
I have been going over an article by Apisi nyar Alego, What did we gain from
Odinga and Mboya and I am ashamed to associate with his views.For too long
Luos and Kenyans in general reflect on what did so and so gain for us in
their short time span in our less than August house. Why do you ask what
you didnt gain? I is going to parliament a means to having a bigger chunk
of the national cake or a fair chunk of the same?
Odinga and Mboya and a host of other Luo leaders showed the wisdom of not
being cocooned into one's tribe, we need those other tribes now more than
ever, our voice alone is not enough, and though our Luo pride might not allow
us to say so, we are not an island in our self. Nyaka wang'e ni teko marwa
sani aa kuom bedo e achiel gi jogo ma wasebo ka waparo ni ok nikodwa. I know
that this philosophy is hard to bite, but rather a fare share of the cake
than no share at all.
Trust me when I tell you that it is a fact that we wont beneit greater with
a Kikuyu at the wheels, but we would rather have that now as our community
charter out a way into prosperity for our poor brothers. Luos we are a poor
people, but we have firm heads on our shoulders, let us look to bring a change
through education and intellect let the politicking remain in the hands of
the politicians.
