Dear all,
Iam a frequent visitor to this website and I enjoy reading the content. but
sometimes I ask if this is all we can share and discuss, and if there is a
possibility of making the site more vibrant, modern and focused in content.
For example, now that we have lost the VP, we could brainstorm on the
implications of this death, possible appointments and how these will impact
on the kenya political climate. or say, why cant we dedicate space to the PM
debate, or even the Bomas II and chat out how our future as Luos is going to
be shaped by the final output.
I am saying we can use this site as a powerful vehicle for shaping political
opinions of Luos. Other tribes own the media in Kenya and they have used it
to their advantage. we can also turn this site into a rallying point for
sharing and discussing divergent political and socioeconomic issues directly
touching on the Luo. Instead of dwelling on cultural irrelevancies like
"keny", "loko lek", and cutting /pasting columns from whispers, pakrruok ma
nono, we could be more relevant, dynamic and focused on current affairs that
influence the Luo destiny.
I want to submit that Luos are threatened with socio-economic and political
marginalisation. if we dont shape up our youth to grow up as Luo partriots,
then our community is in danger of forfeting its stature and interests to
other Kenyans. I am afraid.
