Let's try thinking Kenyan
En adier ni wan jo Luo and I join everyone else in being proud to be one. But let us not be so self-centered that we fail to contribute to our country, Kenya.  We have in the past focussed so much on being luos, just like other tribes have focussed on being themselves that we have torn Kenya into tribal pieces and denied our country the oprtunity to develop.

Akelo nayr Kager says that we are Luos, period. An jaLuo, that is correct, but I am also Kenyan. Let's not politicize our identity at the expense of development.  what Kenyans need to know is that we are the ones to decide who to rule us, and who not to. If we, as individuals, feel we know what might be right for our country, then it would just be in order to share it with others. The country, Kenya, might be a result of a British mistake, but I doubt if most of us experienced any other thing than being Kenyan.  Let not our ambitions come before the thought of our beloved country.

Apisi nyar Alego asked what developments we can count from our cooperation with other tribes. Allow me to mention that most of the politicians you mentioned went into a cooperation because of their own selfish ambitions.  We should have never expected anything from them. A number of you might have read my article on why we should have not followed Odinga into Kanu. I am ashamed I was right among other few people who saw that opportunists should not be followed like we did Raila.  I would encourage positive cooperation. Let "US" who claim to know teach others, and let's hear what they also have to say.  Let's build jaluo as a unit, but also remember we are a part of the larger model; Kenya.

I would like to encourage Kenyans to practice positive tribalism, where we are proud of our varieties, but also appreciate that other people are different from us.  As an individual I am proud that I can elect my leader.  If we all could value well, this pride, this blessing, then maybe we could even choose who to lead the luos, and then, ask them who we would live them to cooperate with , and why.  Not just follow them everywhere as if they are the ones who know.
