ENOUGH WILL NEVER BE ENOUGH ABOUT ASIANS IN KISUMU

Responding to Mr. Odhiambo Omolo's article entitled: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH ABOUT ASIANS IN KISUMU. I feel we need to be fair when it comes to tackling serious issues like multicultural community and integration politics. I feel before we flush Asians out of Kisumu we should try to know why Asians are still living in Kisumu since they were flushed out of Uganda. Secondly we need to decolonise the mind of the Luos and to stop thinking that anybody of light skin is superior! Each individual should respect his or her own culture and tradition without interfering with others. Thirdly we should not forget that Asian community are the highly profiled business people in Kisumu and this is for the good of the Lakeside city. It's good for the economy. If Asian are not entitled to live in Kisumu then the Luos in New Jersey or the Latinos in San Francisco or Los Angeles should also be flushed out! Likewise to Kenyan students in Punjabi, Jabalpur, Bangalor and Tamil Nadu should also be repatriated back to Kenya Mr. Omolo do you see how immigration pattern is co-related? And finally Luos should also be repatriated back to Sudan, Darfur and Egypt alike. On the issue of Harambee, we shouldn't blame the Asians alone Luos should be blamed as well. The reason of blame is based on lack of communication between the natives, politicians and Luo Council of Elders for ignorance and negligence! If we have to flush the foreign community out of Kisumu then we'll be left with nothing other than fish industry which is also dwindling due to socio-ecological reasons. I will not talk much about The Spectre Properties because this will mean interfering with the on going business and it's unlawful unless we have got enough proof on the nature of notorious behaviour. Mr. Omolo I respect you a lot and I wouldn't like to take sides I'm writing this mail on my capacity as editor of Jaluo dot Kom. Let's make this website be attractive to other readers. Finally I do agree with you that some foreign communities aren't worth to live in Kisumu but not only a particular community as you alleged on the Asians. Let's not spread bush fire among Kisumu residents. Instead we should try to find a way to harmonise their deteriorating states in case there is any. We should borrow a leaf from our neighbours, the Ugandans, even after Iddi Amin Dada flushed out Asians the economy of Uganda didn't improve under the influence of the locals.
