Dr Asha- Rose Migiro, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation of the United Republic of Tanzania on her appointment as Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations. The appointment comes at a crucial period in major global issues and developments affecting the East African sub-region and indeed the African continent. Threats to world peace, security and stability loom large over the globe. EAC Headquarters, Arusha, 17 January 2007: The Secretary General of the East African Community, Ambassador Juma Mwapachu has sent a message of congratulations to H.E.
