Diaspora candidate Miguna Miguna is too arrogant for Nyando constituents

Canada based Lawyer-cum-journalist, Mr. Miguna Miguna, hails from the minority Wawidhi sub-clan. The Wawidhi sub-clan, for many years never produced a leader in Kano. They were known to be cattle Keepers, with many heards of cattle. That perception however changed with the election of Eng. Nyamunga as the MP for Nyando in 2002. Miguna was hoping to continue the trend by himself unseating the incumbent MP.

That is not likely to happen for the simple reason that Miguna has acquired the distinction of a person too arrogant for his own good.

Miguna left Kenya in 1987 as Joshua Miguna Miguna, when he was a second year BA students in Nairobi University. At UoN he was a distributor of the University Magazine, and although he joined the bandwagon of University Student in demonstrating against the Kanu government, he was known to be a coward by fellow students and also a double agents.

When students were fleeing Moi's totalitarian rule, he joined others to Swaziland vie Tanzania. He was later granted a Refugee Status and sent to Toronto Refugee Shelter, where he was granted a Conventional Refugee status. After which he continued with his Education at York University in Toronto and eventually became a lawyer.

In Toronto. Miguna is said to have joined an anti-Christ movement and dropped his name Joshua. He opened his own private practice, but he is known to be a lone ranger in Canada, having no community commitments with Kenyans or Luos. He has no community development record to his name either in his Wawidhi sub-clan or anywhere in Nyando.

He continues to put much energy in fighting development initiatives of his collegues in Diaspora as was witnessed recently when he picked a fight with LUOCOME, the Luo Diaspora Welfare and Economic Development initiative out of Dayton, Ohio-USA

Miguna's attitude has made it hard for his business practice to attract clientele. He recently had to move from his own offices and is currently being sublet by another lawyer of Ugandan origin, Regina Senjule.

Miguna was said to be banking on the support of the balkanized Kochogo, and Wawidhi sub-clans. He is said to have made an attempt to mobilize the populous Kochogo sub-clan for his support. The scheme has however backfired with devastative loss.

In Kenya recently, Miguna had the political surprise of his life when Raila's security denied him an appointment to see him. Then complicating matters further for him, he was sighted visiting Minister Foreign Minister, Hon Raphael Tuju. It is also being said that Miguna and Dr Odeya Ayaga, RAILA007 USA, Coordinator are close friends to the USA Ambassador, Rateng Ogego, even though he claims that his relationships are purely business. .

After his recent disappointment from home, which his supporters in Nyando blamed on Hon Eng Nyamunga and Rev Okoth Otura's influence, Miguna did the unthinkable. Arriving in Canada and finding that Rev Okoth Otura was invited by Raila007 USA in a telecon meeting in North America, he was irritated to the extent that he sent circular WARNING/NOTICES and DEFAMATORY EMAILS against the man of the Cloth, and denounced Luocome.

Miguna's emails which have been made public here in Kenya by a luo MP has been met with amused reaction from Nyando constituents. His miscalculated conduct in a foreign country is spreading in the villages in Nyando like bush fire. This single childish act has damaged his candidature beyond repair.

As if that was not enough trouble already, Miguna fired another round of email, circulated to all the officials of Raila007 Lobby Group,
"I hereby withdraw from being associated with your group in any manner whatsoever. I consider this a very fundamental breach that calls into question both the genuineness and/or seriousness of your group. You are free to associate with or work with Okoth Otura. Thank you and good luck.
Miguna."

That email solicited the following reactions from the Luo Top Guns in Diaspora.

All said and done, Miguna is out. Being an aggressive, arrogant man, who does not take advice easily, he will most likely stand in Nyando. But his candidature will have no impact whatsoever. He is damaged goods.
