Fwd: Democracy; what really is it? Part 1

As America prepared for their last presidential elections, it began to bother me that the Evangelical Christian Leaders were on the forefront of political campaigns. President Bush was literally preached back into the White House from the Christian pulpits. I began to grapple with the question of the role of Christianity in Democratic politics. For some reason, Jesus the founder of Christian faith refused to meddle or (should we say) participate in local politics. Matter of fact, every time they tried to bring him into politics, He always said, "my kingdom is not of this world." This came at a time when the Jewish economy desperately needed a liberator to free them from the Roman Colony. Why didn't he encourage his followers to participate in these politics?

Democracy has been hailed both from the pulpit and the public square as the best thing that ever happened to mankind after Jesus Christ. Now, if Democracy is this good for mankind, why does God abhor it so much. Why is it that every time The Hebrew people tried to introduce democracy, they met with God's wrath? The first ever documented proponent of Democracy was actually Lucifer. The Bible recounts how he was kicked out of Heaven with his opposition party.

As the children of Israel temporarily settled in the wilderness, there arose a feeling that the National cake wasn't equitably distributed, Kora and his group felt that Moses and his family had unfairly taken all the leadership positions. The opposition in the camp wanted a democratic election and so Kora went on the campaign trail. God was so upset, he commanded the ground to swallow them. Why? These poor citizens were simply asking for their democratic rights.

Again, as they sojourned, Aaron and his sister Mirian made one last attempt at democracy. This caused her seven days of exile from the camp and an arm of leprosy. Matter of fact Moses was forced to intercede for his brother otherwise the Lord would have smitten him to death. When they said to Samuel, "give us a king so that we may be like other nations", He gave them a king but reserved the right to choose that king to Himself. Once more He politely denied them their Democratic right. Why?

The most empirical definition of DEMOCRACY is " A Government of the People, for the People by the People." Notice that God is nowhere in the picture. It's people, people and people. Democracy is built under two assumptions: Either God doesn't exist, or if he does, He has ceased to participate in world's affairs and therefore mankind if left to grope around on his own and fend for himself.

COULD DEMOCRACY BE THE PROPHETIC MARK OF THE BEAST?

The Bible book of Revelations chapter 12 opens with " Then I saw another Beast coming out of the Land" (vacancy). Some Bible scholars have equated this prophetic beast to The United states of America. Now, for hypothetical purposes, let the beast be the US. The scripture says that this beast "had the power to call fire out of heaven". This is one game the US has perfected into an art. "We drop Bombs on 'em". This beast would also "force everyone to receive the MARK of the BEAST without which You can neither buy nor sell." The only thing America is going around the world and forcing autonomous countries to accept is democracy without which many nations are now suffering under the burden of economic sanctions. The big question now is, Have we accepted the mark of the beast and didn't realize?
