Personal Attacks are Unhealthy and Harmful

While I applaud Orina Nyamwamu, a former school mate from Homa-Bay High school for being upright to explain the core principles of what a “tribe” connotes as a demeaning pre-colonial term, I would urge members of jaluo doT kom and its readers across the globe to have some positivism while invoking the name of other ethnic groups. Personalization will not help solve any issue, but rather disintegrate us further. Lets make the debate more of policy ideologies.

Let’s share our thoughts in a more objective manner while we trivialize personal attacks. We're interested in what our fellow readers think about these topics. Please let’s feel free to share our thoughts, ideas and beliefs in a decorum and mature manner.

The Jaluo doT kom should review all reader comments before they are posted and reserves the right to post or not post. Comments that include profanity, personal attacks or libelous statements will or should not be published. On another note, we encourage everyone to embrace one another in a more professional, brotherly and sisterly manner.

In the eve of this general election, we only have two possible outcomes, if my math is right. The “win” situation or “lose” situation. If you spend so much energy in identifying with your own ethnic community and or family members while trying to ascend to some position of power, then of course the status quo is on the loom and one risk losing the elections. But our mission as the electorate is to get rid of tribalism and nepotism from its root core, which means the generational transfer of power with like minded leaders.

I urge leaders who are running for the presidency to open their doors for members of other ethnic groups and non family members in the operations of their campaign teams, since this is the first test of leadership in a diverse country like Kenya.
