Clear Day
Dear People of Nyanza and All the Kenyans, at home and all over the world.

I have read the following article with great sadness and dismay.

This is exactly what happens,

" When a nation or a Family looses focus "

      See item,
"Response to Mwana Abonyo, Ruto and Omburo on Raila's President bid ! , by Rev Okoth Otura " .

Kenyans must be very diligent and careful when dealing with issues, pertaining to our future and that of our Nation - Kenya. Personal or individual interest must never come before the common good of the community. I want to persuade myself that all the Luos are wise and intelligent and that they truly understand what is at the stake for them and the Kenyan society as a whole.

In response to Rev. Otura's notation, I agree that OPPONENT should be the right wording. However, we all know that several times, Hon. Raila had mentioned that his live was in danger, and we have track as to what has befell the influential Kenyans, the majority of whom have been unfortunately, the members of the Luo tribe! In that context we have a right to use " ENEMIES " to term all those whom we would have termed as the " Opponents " in a more temperate political arena. Had Kenya been such a place.

Not long ago a man named Hon. John Michuki, alias; Minister of internal security, unleashed, " Snakes " upon all the Kenyans who went to Kamukunji to hear Raila speak. A number of Kenyans were injured and there was lose of life. Now Rev. was that an opponent or an Enemy? An individual who goes as far as killing your supporters, can not be termed as an opponent, it is an ENEMY! Michuki and the likes stated clearly that they were Snakes who were ready to bite back at the Kenyan people, can we call these people opponents or Enemies?

Further more Hon. Raila has tried to bring the blight of all the Kenyans into the Radar of those in position of power, what was the result? I do not personally have a heart to call them Opponents, they are not! They are simply the enemies, of both Kenyan people and their champion, Hon. Raila Odinga.

On part of the respectable Jim Orengo, what can he bring to Kenyans, other than being a thorn on the throne of former President Moi, what leadership qualities does he have that can rival that of Raila? Leadership demands a fore sightedness. You have to know how far can you push and when to compromise. Hon. Raila compromised in 2002 to remove the Evil - Moi and his imposed pupil, Uhuru. It is not that He did not want to support a Luo. The immediate threat was to make sure Kenyans were not ruled by the minority, just as it had been, when 28% votes for Moi, were enough to give him the presidency. Support for Orengo would have made Uhuru the president, which meant Mzee Moi would have been ruling in proxy!

Moi's plans were to separate Luos and the rest of Kenyans. If all the Luos had voted for Orengo, then all the Kikuyus would have voted for Uhuru and Kibaki, splitting their votes. The Kalenjin would have given Uhuru their vote, and the Kamba and other tribes would have gone with the Mzee, and by default the presidency would have gone to Uhuru! Raila was able to see it and he being a pragmatist and a man who knows to compromise for the good of all, did the unthinkable, support the lesser of the two evils. To attack him to the extend of being detrimental to the good of every one is hardly a wise thing!

Raila has stated openly to the fact that His goal is to create Federalism in Kenya. There is no way that Raila can bring this to bear fruit when we have cronies, old outdated relics of colonialism in possession of tools of power. Look at the issue of reforms, a simple issue. What about the New constitution, H.E President Emillio put up fake hopes assuring Kenyans of a new constitution within 100 days, where is it now? 4 years 3 months later!

If Kibaki could not even fulfill such a simple promise how could he implement, federalism now? An idea that comes from incorruptible Raila? Who happened to be also his chief opponent! It is fair and good to criticize, but it has to be constructive and geared towards getting the best of the results for our common goal - Better Kenya, for all.

What we should be demanding is to ask, why would a region, { Nyanza }, that has a very dynamic people, better educated and active members in Kenya's political system, live in poverty such that even the world has to tell somebody in the government that there is poverty here! Has the Hon. Raila not been talking about the equitable and fair distribution of Kenya's wealth? Out of the 1000 scholarship that the Chinese gave to Kenya, 900 went to the House of Mumbi, Rev. tell us how could we not be angry, and willing to exact change in Kenya? Who do you know among the current Opposition politicians, who have worked very hard to inform every one and the world about the Kenyan peoples' predicament? It has been Raila. In 2002, I supported Kibaki, to bring change, just as Raila did. It was change that we all Kenyans were seeking, but we were not expecting a liar and a person who do not keep promises, from the caliber of Kibaki. We all know what Kibaki has become!

I sincerely hope that you do not believe that James Orengo is the better person as compared to Raila. He is not. Raila has the best chance to win and bring change. To attack Him so cruelly and even imagine that he is solely after you is to miss the point. What we want is to remove Kibaki Period.

Let us look at the countries that lost the Focus, Somalia, our neighbour. They cried and eventually Gen. Siad Barre left. Then the hate and attacks took over what does Somalis have now? They wish Barre was back!

What about Iraq now, they lost the focus as to who really is their mortal enemy! Instead, the Bush family has convinced them that the Enemy is other Iraqis. When the bravest of all the sons of Babylon arose from the town of Fallujah, the Americans were horrified, they and the Muqdada Al Sadr group, almost drove the occupying Army out of Iraq. They were divided and out coned.

The Sunni group were told their Enemy was their Shiites brothers! Not those who were killing them and bombing their country! Funds were given to them, and they commenced an horrendous attack upon their brothers. As they lost their focus, their real enemy- the Bush Family was left to concentrate on the looting of Babylon. It means by the time the Sunnis wake up, their Oil, their Money, and their country would all be in the American Banks!

Look even the case of the Palestinians how could you even imagine that of all the people they can not see that they have totally lost focus! Attacking their own people does not bring any results in regards to the common objective!

What we should learn from these examples are that if you are not careful you veer of course very badly. If that happens it would be difficult to identify your focus to say the very least.

What I am witnessing, If we do not stop attacks amongst ourselves, is the second crowning of Kibaki, if we do not see what we are aiming and what is important!
