Re: [africa-oped] We need to support Hon Raila

From: Diana

Odhiambo,

You are sharing a one sided story on how Kenya will be a land of, "hakuna matata" under Raila. I beg to differ because his record speaks of a man who has broken the law more than once beginning with the 1982 coup.

Besides breaking the law, I am not sure if Raila can do any magic with the Kenyan economy. Like others have mentioned in the past, I hear him troubleshoot problems as opposed to providing solutions. In his road show, he caused alarm when he stated that some youths will be hired to create chaos. How can we tell that that is not his strategy and then turn around and blame the government?

Raila focuses on comical attention grabbing tales such as the kadada jokes, Mamluki fairy tales, drug money at NSE, the hummer, swearing with the bible or someone is out to kill me. And don't blame the media on this because for the most part, they capture the highlight of the stories and they are not provided with a lot of substance to work with. A lot of good work and attention can be diverted to the slums in Kibera. Raila needs to do some magic with Kibera before tackling Kenya's economy.

Did you read Mudavadi on a possible Idi Amin in ODM? How about you refresh your memory with this article [Story by A SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT with www.nationmedia.com/dailynation].
