Of Kamotho son of Othaya and desperate measures.

From: Bush Ndiege

Desperate times call for desperate measures as in the case of son of Othaya. Kamotho has been in troubled times for a while, his boat has been rocked by the tribal, regional and sectarian politics of central province and reading from a far his time is up.

He has cried foul. He is lamenting and calling his last shots to save face, and to save face he has to throw every venom and discredit those he has supported all along. He has to resort to conformist standards and run away from what he has all long made us believe he was opposed to.

Like all sycophants he is proved again that he is a man without much substance to stand alone on and be counted. Truly but surely he has to make a choice of either joining the masses of his kind and supporting the tribal outfit and kingpin Kibaki or risk losing going back to parliament.

Kamotho has been open enough to voice the fact that his initiative has been driven by his opponents who have been campaigning in Othaya against him. But isn’t that just competitive politics of this age? Has it taken him this long to realise these facts of politics or has he been left in the cold for too long by his counterparts in LDP. Has Kamotho therefore been a mole sitting in ODMK ?

The most definite fact is that it has taken Kamotho a while to face the real fact that to be an MP in central province, you got to toe the line and support the incumbent president or just not be in the others camp opposing every other outfit other than that of central province. In an era of great democracy and freedom, we can only hope that destiny and fate will lead the son of Othaya to his rightful place. For as we all know, for once he has to now make up his mind and change tune. And since he now believes Kibaki is the man to beat he may as well join Kabaki’s bandwagon. For all the right reasons, he wants to go back to parliament and at the 9th hour he has changed tune.

Good luck bull of Othaya, politics is a funny game. With all the mileage you have recorded in politics, we would have expected better. But these are the days when men show their true colours for political survival as we head to polls.

Need I say more? For yesterday you stood at the roof tops and shouted down Kibaki. Today you are at the rooftops, but doing the opposite: praising him. What can we Kenyans truly call you? Conformist?
