Re: Time to think big for Nyanza

From: Lameck Siage

Bwana Tobby,

The article is thought-provocking and we must start thinking and acting in that diretion (Only that it is post-dated to November 07. We need to cash it in now and not wait for November 07 when we will be seeking votes for Hon. Raila and Siage and others)

My point is this. We don't need to wait for a politically charged situation to realize that investment in needed for our people.

Yes, as things stand now under a central government, infrastructural development is largely in the hands of the central government, hence our desire to have Hon. Raila in, not to favour us at the expense of other Kenyans, but to allow our fair share of the provisions. Believe you me, with a fair distribution based on a broader vision for a better Kenya, we will already feel the effect of having a sensible president in office.

Invest! Invest! Invest! That is what we must do. We must invest our resources to generate income for us, and jobs for our people. We must invest in our leadership - the institution and not necessarily the people - so that we are not only lead by are shown where we are going as well so that many of us can take turns at the leadership positions, as we continue our our same path to the desired prosperity. We must also invest in economic partnerships. Larger, smarter, broader investments have a larger chance of larger returns, and with a sensible president in statehouse, we can only hope for a truly brighter Kenya for all.

I dare say that in economic venture investment, we do not necessarily have to limit our target to the "Joka Nyarman" We can open up to our partners abroad and even locally, so long as our ventures are economically sound and benefical to the region at large. A sound investment in cotton industry in Kisumu is good for the region even if the person behind it was a one-legged albino from Mongolia, if you hear what I am saying.

I am one of those who strongly feel that we cannot just sit there and do nothing. I am on my way to a small start. Let us join hand.

Good day to all.
