What is it that I've exaggerated or embleshied about my background?
Agwanda and Manganga,
In order to acquit yourselves of the
serious charge that you are nothing but political hatchet men either acting
alone or at the behest of others to assassinate my character, could you please
explain to me what you claim that I have exaggerated or embellished about
my contributions?
You also asked: "When was Miguna
detained?"
I believe that I have given you answers
both on my Official website:
www.migunamiguna.com
and in "Listen to the Mumbles of The River;" an article I published to
international acclaim way back in 1993! That was more than twelve years
before my political foray into Nyando.
To assist you,
the date is November 14, 1987.
My dictionary defines the word "
detain" as "[T]o keep in custody" or to "confine."
It is a matter of public record that
I was abducted and detained incommunicado (that is, without access to lawyers,
family or friends) from Nov. 14th to Nov. 28th, 1987. That is for a period
way in excess of the time the police are allowed to hold anyone without charges
and without taking them to court.
I will not even bother you with the
details of what happened to us in detention. Thankfully, those are now in
the public domain.
You can argue with these facts to your
hearts' contents. That's not my concern.
My brothers, it concerns me that you
have chosen to misrepresent facts that are in the public domain.
Although you falsely claim that you
had "challenged" me about these mythical "fabrications," all I remember from
Owuor's previous emails had nothing to do with my background.
Assuming that you were adults
in 1987/88, then you surely must have read about me and seen my pictures
in all three Kenyan newspapers. But even if you were not in Kenya or were
still very young, or have forgotten, it would have been much better if you
ascertained your information before exposing your ignorance in the manner
you have done.
To what end are you doing this? I honestly
do not know or care. However, integrity demands that when you are wrong,
you apologize and openly admit to being in error, like Owuor was with another
of his false claims that Wanyiri Kihoro died years back!
Always check and cross-check your facts.
There is no comprehensive data base of all victims of Kenya's repressive
past. It doesn't matter to me that whatever records you have seen omits
my name. I can tell you of hundreds of other missing names from your illegitimate
sources...
By the way, it is perhaps necessary
to tell you that there are people that appear on those dubious "records"
you dangle whose contributions are suspect. But, it is not my job to
tell you which ones those are. You are the ones who claim to be the RESEARCHERS;
do your job diligently.
As I
have reminded you and a few mischief makers, please conduct serious research
- attend at the Nation House, East African Standard and Kenya Times
and review their archives, which are in microfiche.
I also invite you to examine Amnesty International Reports for the same
period.And speak with my comrades like Wafula Buke, Kaberere Njenga, Ogola
JTO, Ngala Amuomo, Munameza Muleji and Munoru Nderi - they are still alive!
Then I dare
you to come back and declare me a fraud!
It seems like
your mischievous little project has stalled! That's why you sound and
appear desperate. But I will not rescue you...
But I will
be very fair and hardworking both before and after my election as the MP
for Nyando in December this year. So, please don't panic...
And yes, all those who spoke up in
my defence are well within their rights to challenge your vile mischief.
