Who put pressure on you to include my name in your brief-case project?

Mr. Idler,

My attention has been brought to yet another publicity-seeking Internet yodels, posted in Africa-oped. You have not even had the courtesy to send the idiotic emails you have posted on some Internet sites to me.

But before I get to some of the dubious issues you have raised, may I ask you a few questions?

1. Who has been applying pressure on you to include me in your highly suspicious "list of Kenyan heroes?"

For the record, until someone brought my attention to your childish post, I had never heard of you or your briefcase outfit formed to con foreign donors. I have never asked you to associate my illustrious name with your little pettiness you call a project.

2. Do you consider some of the responses to your posts I have read "pressure to include Miguna" in that silly project you say you are part of?

3. Was everybody "detained" a hero to you? For instance, is Gacheche wa Miano or Koigi wa Wamwere Kenyan heroes? Do you really know or want to know why Gacheche and Koigi were detained?

4. Does one has to be detained or jailed to become a hero to you?

5. Prof. Anyan'g Nyong'o, James Orengo, Prof. Atieno Odhiambo and Chelagat Mutai were abducted and detained incommunicado before being released, but their names were not Gazetted. How About all those ex-Kenya Air force men and women that were detained without trial for weeks, months and years before being butchered by Moi? Have you traced their detention records? Have you seen the Gazette where their names appear?

There is no official record of their DETENTIONS AND TORTURE! Are you suggesting that if one was illegally and unlawfully detained and tortured like these people and I, we do not qualify to say that we were DETAINED WITHOUT TRIAL?

And it is you Mr. Idler who gets to decide that one!

6. The questions you have fudged are these: Was I detained or not? Was I tortured or not? Was I held incommunicado or not? Was I released without charge and without trial or not? These are the questions, whose answers are in the public domain but that you choose conveniently due to your parochial pettiness and political agenda to fudge.

We shall not let you.

7. Do you even know how some of us managed to flee and fly out of Africa? You would be pleased to know that my Kenyan passport was withdrawn by orders of Moi and has never been re-issued. For the record and your benefit, I and others travelled on UN issued Diplomatic Passports!

Did you get that one in your thick skull?

And now to your poorly written and ungrammatical idle post:

Your grammar, syntax and style are horribly unschooled and inelegant. How could you possibly be a researcher or writer? Where did you go to school? Why do you call yourself a researcher with such terrible incoherence?

Reputable and legitimate researchers do not start conflicts and peddle rumours in the Internet. If you were a legitimate reseaercher trying genuinely to corroborate some information you obtained about me, you would have contacted me privately and asked me the questions you purported to have. But that had to be done tactfully and in a mature maner.

You did not do that. Instead, you posted poorly written giobberish in the Internet, attacked my character and hoped to besmirtch my reoutation and good name and called your balderdash "inquiry." It isn't. You might find some inavaluable lessons if you took time and went back to elementary school. That's where you belong.

I have never asked to be included in your so-called book, which you are busy peddling with absolutely no interest from anyone. Are you really surprised given that you are a nobody?

Actually, you should be honest and acknowledge that you never wrote to me. I only responded to your mischievous publications in the Internet. I probably have given you underserved attention. Congratulations! Celebrate it while it lasts.

You are obviously not qualified to conduct research, leave alone write a book on Kenyan heroes.

You are well aware that I have never claimed to be a hero.

Kenyans know who their heroes are. And it is history that will record my contributions; not some third rate, semi-illiterate idiot like you.

Nor do you have any liberation credentials. Unlike you, I am well known both internationally and in Kenya. I do not need your cheap and obnoxious publicity-seeking propaganda to win an election in Kenya.

You imply that I should have declared my revolutionary credentials to you for vetting. Who do you think you are?

Only a fool, cheat and undisciplined self-seeker discloses his or her revolutionary "underground" activities and those they executed those activities with. I will never fall into that trap. Remember that you are dealing with someone who has been tested and who passed with glowing colours.You will search but you will never find a scintilla of evidence of betrayal, treachery or double-dealing from my past.

Since it has taken you this long to reveal what you promised you would about my detention without trial, I suspect that you have found nothing but stellar credentials. Again, congratulations!

You certainly must be talking to some third rate revolutionary pretenders whose only claim to fame is the number of brief-case projects they peddle to gullible foreign donors and the number of friends, relatives and purported "comrades" that were caught and jailed in his name. Koigi cleverly sacrificed ots of innocent Kenyans this way to become a Mendela! He failed. Is that one of your heroes?

An effective revolutionary never breaks, never confesses and can never be convicted on the basis of "evidence" collected from him or her. If in doubt, why do you think they detained but never convicted Raila?

The fact that I did not break or confess under torture is definitely something I am very proud of.

Produce what you have threatened to unleash. Show us the transcripts of my comrades saying anything contrary to what I am saying...

But then again, you could be working for the enemies of Kenya; trying to identify revolutionaries and seeking information that you certainly cannot be privy to.

You claim to be a researcher! Why don't you simply go to the UNHCR and Amnesty International and retrieve the information you claim you don't have?

And what was it you were saying about the UNHCR not assisting people in Kenya before they flee? First, who said they assisted me in Kenya? And secondly, who told you that they don't? You peddle falsehoods. Maybe that's your specialty.

Check your facts before you expose your ignorance.

You had claimed that I was not a student leader. You claimed that I headed the Dining Hall as if such a thing existed. Which makes me doubt whether you have actually stepped into the University of Nairobi compound. Have you now corrected yourself?

The reason why Kenya has suffered so much under repressive regimes is because of idlers and cowards like you. You have never done anything for Kenya; yet you dare stand on the agora to declare me, a person who suffered torture to free idlers like you, as a fake?

You have exposed and badly embarrassed yourself by claiming that you have no time to read my account of torture and mistreatment in the hands of the Kanu/Moi dictatorship! If you have no time to read my account, how can you claim to be interested in "seeking" the truth about the second liberation? Do you think the second liberation was fought and won on the Internet?

You thought that you could embarrass, humiliate and shut me up. You cannot and will never be able to do that. Moi failed trying to do the same thing, despite the state machinery he had at his disposal.

You say that I was only distributing "safe" poems (your quotation marks) in the Campus Mirror! How would you know that Mr. Idler? Can you reproduce one of those "safe" poems I was distributing. And why was I distributing them? To whom?

Do you really know what we published in the Campus Mirror and Sauti Ya Kamukunji before it? Do you know what it took to do that?

You also make reference to Pambana publication and other "known" Kenyan "underground" organizations, among others.

Do you really understand what was meant by UNDERGROUND?

Do you think your thick head fully grasps what these organizations were, their mandates and activities?

Do you actually think that you know ALL KENYAN UNDERGROUND MOVEMENTS that have existed since 1966?

Are you really interested to know how Pambana and other "seditious" literature were produced and disseminated?

Do you know who wrote what and how they were distributed in Kenya?

My brother, if you knew (forget about the useless yodels by Koigi and other idlers like you), would commit suicide!

You are a sour loser and that's your destiny.
