Power corrupts; or the thinking of it

Yesterday I was shocked watching on Telly, Alfred Mutua ordering the arrest of some Kenyan citizens in public for doing some shoddy job in road construction in Mombasa.

I was shocked that the police, people who should know the law, obeyed Mutua, and had these Kenyans really arrested.

Where does Mutua get such powers to order for someone to be arrested?

Is it the question of power corrupting?

We have many cases where such thought out power displays ought to play game. Like the mungikis whom the government is willing to negotiate with, are the people who should be arrested on sight.

Such misplaced power plays must come to an end in December 2007.
