Re: Luoland-learn from your mistakes: Honest response to Joram O. Ragem

"Joram O. Ragem",

Even if one wants to take you seriously you don't seem to deserve it. Our society is full of pessimists like you and that is normal. Its more likely that you complain about even little development your own brothers and cousins are trying to venture into. Its called jealousy or what I hear luos call "Nyiego.." What ever it means my friend you should not let it kill you. You are probably astounded by what Barrack has achieved but I didn't see any where in Barrack’s mail where he claimed that he is a financial guru. He said they have contacted lawyers and accountants that are going to advice them on the way forward. Was that not clear enough. If you don’t want to join, why not keep it to your self. must you come around here and make noise about it? I agree Luos are really smart people but if you are one I frankly don’t see that in you. You are exhibiting naivety and traits of a professional heckler that are very recipe for propaganda. Come to the meeting and air your views or shut up and continue wetting your bed. Luos don’t need people that are inept in ideas and are happy with status-squo to advice them on what to do. This is exactly what has kept Ugenya and Alego underdeveloped under Oloo Aringo and Steven Ondiek. This is what kept the whole of south coast and areas around Kwale underdeveloped. Most of the development you see in Kiambu and Kikuyu areas including large holdings of land held by the Kikuyu in the Rift valley were bought through land buying companies and not individuals or microeconomics. Those companies were formed by groupings like what Barrack and co are trying to do. The elected leaders are more interested in giving out small handouts than bringing in development project. Raila and his father Ajuma whom the majority of Luos look to for leadership have for along time involved the community in ground breaking investment opportunities....... and I hear no questions from non starters like you. Am talking about Luo thrift and the auction of Molasses Plant in Kisumu. Were you still in diapers of just shading off your milk teeth?

If you have personal vendetta against Okoth Otura, Mr. Burgess and Barrack, you have all the freedom to contact them personally or through this forum to throw your tantrums. If you don't have money to put in the investment that might be born from this meeting, don’t despair, at the right time when you come by something, the door will still be open for you buy shares. But one thing you should know brother is that the meeting is not exclusively for luos and I will be happy to attend.

And don't talk about segregation when you are saying that Barrack should have posted his reply on jaluo.com .

It would serve us best if you heckle next time with alternative ideas Don’t talk about micro economies when your mind is zeroing in on kiosks and market stalls. Even then you are still welcome to bring those ideas at the meeting. We shall be happy to adopt what is sound and point out flaws in what we think is not sound. Otherwise we will let you continue wallowing in the glory of achieving nothing...all of us can do that.. we don’t just tell others.

Edward
