Re: Forget looted money

Lameck,

Let us retrace the steps that brought us to this.

Odhiambo had told us: We wanted him (Kibaki) to stop this thieving process, hunt the thieves, bring them to justice and put a stop to thieving. But he has failed the test. So, it is time for him to go, not to seek re election.

That prompted me to remind him that the man he is campaigning for to replace Kibaki should face the same wembe because he has publicly said (more than once) that he used his office as the Minister of Roads, Public Works and Housing to award Moi the government owned Kabarnet Gardens. The former minister also informed us that he used his cabinet post to ensure that Moi was not charged with being party to the Goldenberg. I provided him with these two links:

I don't see why you should accuse me of mudslinging yet this issue of accountability holding people responsible for their actions was brought up for discussion by Odhiambo. It is unfair to accuse me of tribalism when you cannot point to a single word in my response to support your accusation.

You said:
not try to blame the opposition for the failure of the government. The case of the VP's house taken over by the former president included. Could Raila as an individual stand on the way of the entire cabinet and the judiciary, and parliament, and the KACC, and the police, etc if they wanted to take back the house....

I don't know if to laugh or cry. What kind of logic is this? Have you ever tried to look at it from the point of buddies ganging up to pillage? My friend, Raila was an insider then. A minister for crying out loud! And he is less guilty than others for calling on his fellow government officials to "NGO SROW" on corruption! But we will lynch Kiraitu Muringi for telling Githingo to "NGO SROW" on Anglo Fleecing? Does anybody see hypocrisy? Anyone?? ..... Eh?

I am not blaming the opposition. The people in the opposition did not become angels when they crossed the floor. That is why I think we need to get rid of the "Holy Opposition" fallacy.

The Book of Matthew 7:21-23 says:
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23 Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Don't we see that play out everyday in our political arena. People think that can get away with murder if they invoke opposition and the name of Wanjiku? Don't we have thieves and their assistants pretending to be a God-sent gift for Kenya?

As a Minister for Housing and Public works, Raila had the authority to chart the way forward in recovering looted government property. We saw him demolish Kiosks built on road reserves. That was within his mandate as Minister. That he used his powers to alocate government property to Moi and FIERCELY DEFEND his decission infront of the cabinet is a clear indication of abuse of office. Defending his actions or attempting to exonerate him is a show of high hypocrisy!

Last but not least you said: Raila is well-placed the deal with the looters of this country. .... I advice that you better get used to the idea that Kenya's 4th president will be Raila Odinga, and then you can take it from there.

In the heads of Raila fanatics he is already the president of kenya. Didn't they crown him outside the Statehouse Kisumu? I remember reading it here: http://www.eastandard.net/hm_news/news.php?articleid=1143968212

As you root for Raila remember that he has perfected the Nyayo art of sycophancy. Anybody singing his praise is Safi Kama Pamba but will be a thief as soon they part ways. Saitoti, Mudavadi, ..... do those names ring a bell? Clue; Goldenberg. But they have been safi and chafu depending on Raila Tosha and Raila Hatoshi.

Raila will only use corruption cases to play the Rewards and Purnishment game that was common in the Nyayo era. It is this kind of despotic behavior that turns most people off. Most politicians (even his buddies in ODM) fear him for he has all hallmarks of a Moi. So Raila as the 4th president of Kenya will remain a sweet dream to his fanatics.
