Re: Transformation Conference and Kenya Development Fund Corp - Invitation

Dear Bob Awuor alias son of Luo soil.

This is an idea, it's about those who can mobilise the willing diasporians to cooperate and invest together. It remains simply that, willing buyer willing seller basis. If you have sharp instincts as you've narrated then I can only tell you that thats your guide and you've got the right not to put money where your innerself questions.

You've also got the right to caution your people not to be party to this. We have no control of that and we dont want to force people to join us. This is a voluntary movement with well articulated plans for implementation not a talk shop for lazy people out here. We humble ourselves by using our own resources to organise our own meetings. We dont' beg donors to help us meet. We pay our own lodgings and if you cant' do this, this is not for you.

As a civilised people, it is not smart to generalise things and use insulting language that depicts those champinoning for this noble idea as conmen or people with funny characters.

I am aware that some of us are born and will die pessimist, some like me are optimists and that's the difference.

With this is view sir, can you please show us the best way forward, any ideas on how we can assist our people, our nation? As Kenyans at home and in diaspora how do we support our people back in our respective Jimbos and how do we move our nation forward?

What are some of the things you have done to effect change, and what measures i.e. political, economic, social, spiritual, etc? do you deem or think necessary to genuinely effect change in your backyard?

Being of the opinion that our Jimbos economic infrastructure needs to be revolutionised in order to propel change, how can this revolution start? Who is the best person to start it? Who should be part of it?

For those committing the state and fate of our nation in God's hands, how practical is that? Does Heaven help those who don't help themselves?

You talk of:
Locally accessible funds i.e CDF, Youth and women funds, ministry cooperative development, you also talk of, Agricultural extension officers, livestock and fisheries extension officers, local veterinary services, local offices of Agricultural Finance Corporation, etc!
At the same time you talk of mass illitracy in Luoland and poverty?? what's the point you are trying to put accross here. Let me remind you that I just called my friends in Nyanza and asked them about the extension officers, the answer I got is NEJ NEJ the extension officers you talk of were last seen 15 years ago.

I am of the opinion that the less pessimists we engage the better of we will be. Keep on smelling and give us prospective alternatives and I promise you to look into it.

William ODuor
