Re: Jared Odero's article on Rarieda people & MP

From: Alex Wanga

Dear Mr Jared Odero,

I am a resident of Rarieda and a supporter of Hon Tuju.
I come from Omia Malo in Asembo currently a businessman in NewYork.
I follow with interest your diatribe against our MP and the hardworking men , women and children of Rarieda with utter dismay if not disgust .When you attack Mr Tuju in effect you are attacking me the resident of Rarieda.

Your so called article if i may call it that cause it read more like hate mail against Rarieda people and Hon Tuju peeved me so much about you and your ilk of so called educated or shall i say brain washed people that let me take time to comment.

Predictably Mr Jared you have spent maybe 40 years of your academic life outside of Kenya leave alone Rarieda thus contributing to the brain drain, a double negative loss for the suffering people of Rarieda since now on top of that you are taking our dignity away by displaying your ignorance on the world web. For all your education i have not heard you mention any economic benefit to your local schools from your so called expertise or is it just papers you are after in foreign lands . I would have respected you more if you would have written an article to support some of the initiatives Mr Tuju has from your a privileged position in Sweden for example how you are going to initiate a project to connect the students of Rarieda. But what do you have instead, hate, and utter contempt for us and the people of Rarieda with the little investment we work hard to make for our children.I am saddened indeed if we spend money on harambees to send people like you overseas and get the middle finger in return. My guess is that your contribution to the ecomony of Rarieda is the money you contribute at funeral gatherings to send back departed memebers of your community apart from political contributions for Raila.

For your information as of today electricity has reached Abidha sub district hospital which now boasts 2 clinical officers courtesy of community efforts and well wishers from abroad. This i know cause i volunteer my time every year as a clinical officer at Abidha sub district hospital something you would like to consider doing instead of being a remote commentator of peoples problems from you armchair in Sweden.

Clearly you have not been home a long time in Rarieda since you mistakenly say Tuju last public meeting was in 2002.

Instead of being a talking head for white people of the problems in Africa, I suggest you start helping your own home area instead of talking about Africa. Start with Asembo or Uyoma and follow up on those stalled projects you aptly pointed out then if it succeds spread it to Africa otherwise stop on commenting about Rarieda on the internet , you not only continue to shame yourself worldwidejudging by the viewer comments on your article but also shame your brothers and sisters in Rarieda on your educated ignorance as if we are not ashamed enough of the rampant disease and poverty that we have to live with everyday.

Please do not bother to reply this mail because i can predict your mind set and frankly after your article i can see that your education is a disservice to the people of Rarieda your political ambitions notwithstanding.

Lastly continue waiting on Raila to become prime minister so that he can appoint you minister of education so you can build those classes and desks for my cousins Odhiambo and Nyamuok at Wera primary school.

Again do not bother to reply.
