RUTO NOW THREATENS TO SUE NAIROBI STAR OVER STATE HOUSE VISIT STORY, AS QUESTIONS EMERGE IS THE STAR A DAILY NEWSPAPER OR MERELY A TABLOID?

KENYA'S most hyped newspaper ,The Nairobi Star, is living to its word to be a gossip benchmark and ODM-Kenya Presidential aspirant William Ruto is vowing to sue the paper on its third day of existence on Kenyan streets.

Ruto says he has already instructed his lawyers to take action against the paper over what he terms as propaganda guided journalism.

He however gave the newspaper seven working days to carry an apology in writing, "failure to which i will move to court."

"The apologies will have to be clear and the wordings must be approved by my lawyers,"Ruto said in parliament during a press conference.

In its Friday headline, the paper splashes, Ruto in Secret State House Visit and goes ahead to claim that he had held secret meetings with Maina Kamanda and State House based economist Stanley Murage before meeting Kibaki himself.

The paper also says that Kibaki handed Ruto a deal worth Shs.400m a year for his insurance company Amarco - to insure Military vehicles.

Ruto, now says at no time did he go to State House and that the story was the work of malice advanced by the Moi Family through Gedion Moi though he did not mention names.

However, according to a news item in its 1400hrs GMT bulletin, both Classic FM and KISS 100 radio station owned in the same Radio Africa - Kenya media group, say that The Nairobi Star editors are standing by their story and quoted them saying, "what we published is true."

Ruto concluded by saying, "Lets meet in court"

He is represented by lawyers from Katwa and Kemboy law firm who have already handed over a letter to the editors of the Nairobi star and copied to Francis Openda and Michael Mugwang'a.
