re: I am all for Kibaki

Alexander Koech Koech has given some very substandard understanding of why he feels that those who see Raila making a better President than Kibaki are "ill mannered". First of all it is not about mannerism that determines ones liking of a candidate. It is called political choice. You have your choice in Kibaki for your own reasons and so do others who admire Raila.

I personally feel that Raila would make a better President than Kibaki in areas like providing a more socialistic type of economic recovery that befits all Kenyans.

Secondly, Kibaki has allowed unemployment to increase and yet he has chosen to reward the old gaurds (including their sons, daughters and grand children) with good jobs. These are people, who may have been there for him during his days when he was a loner with his DP, but never played any significant grassroot role in campaigning for him to be elected as president of kenya.

Three, Kibaki has allowed corruption to infiltrate kenya more than Moi's administration (which was notoriously known to be corrupt).

Fourth, Kabaki has reneged on most of the pledges he made plus including a gentleman's agreement that he made with the people whom he collaborated with to get him to where he is. That is where he owes Raila. If Raila was dishonest he could have declared himself the President when Kibaki was incapacitated after the car wreck. A lot of people have always taken advantage of such moments, after all he campaigned vigorously for the man and gave him Presidency while he was in hospital bed. With that in mind do not try to underscore what Raila did to make Kibaki's presidency possible. How come you never came out to criticize Moi when he dropped Kibaki as his VP? Was this because Moi is a kalenjin or because he made a good decision and you preferred the status quo to stay?

Kenya is not a two tribe republic. Kibaki has done what he can for Kenyans and it is time for him to pave way for a better leader, Raila to take over from where he has left period.
