Re: Mbita High School Alumnis on the Ground & in the Diaspora!/ Fresh Air!

My heartfelt appreciation...

Nd Obash,

Ero kamano! My brother I have received many many phone calls and private e-mails some applauding me and some asking as to why I imply Gusii women rank number last in the Nation.

The Genesis of frustrations and low rankings is drawn from different things within the homestead.

Yes, we can grow and improve our ranking!

I came to discover that if I tell it as it is to the larger crowd Gusii women will uplift their socks and get on top just like the Dholuo did to topple the Kambas, Taita, Kikuyus, Lhuyias, and everyone else.

Here we go again:

Food:

1) A luo woman will cook you a meal that when you go to work or fishing you can stay 24 hours strong and your stomach is full.

We are stuck on ugali na the local veges and rice. We need to widen our menus!

2) There is nobody in Kenya who cook tasty and delicious samaki(fish)than our sisters from the Lake.

They are the undisputed champions in the Nation as far as kitchen matters go. No wonder Kisumu twonship has beome an haven of business and most Gusii people live there permanently these days.

Life is generally and genuinely good out there according to the latest research!

3) Dholuo women are always used to sharing whichever little they have. Clannism and such has no room when sharing. Our people are very disintegrated. You belong where you belong

We tend to side with most of our own. It is happening as we speak and just as recent as two or three weeks ago I was asking N/Mugirango People to contact me quickly we also form a strong force tukule samaki, ugali, na nyama choma as a group from home.

Shame on me!

Honestly, When I was at Mbita High School we were always invited to homes to eat and share food even though we were strangers.

The facts from Mbita Point will be supported by many former Mbita students.

While at Kericho High School if you stepped in someone's homestead even with school uniform you were left at the mercy of very fierce "Kipsigis raised" dogs.

One time when there was no water in school we ran for our lives and only the trees saved us! The dogs kept barking under the trees until the owners came to our resque with some spear and panga on hand!

The Kericho High School school uniform saved us! I was in Form two...

4) When a Luo woman is busy in the kitchen she focuses on the assignment and food is brought to the table at the right time.

My Gusii people take a little too long by the time they bring the dish I'm almost dying! We need to keep time.

Stop gossiping while cooking in the kitchen!

Family Issues:

Luo women in general are brought up in a setting that embrace love, romance, respect, success, and strong family philosophy.

A luo woman knows how to push the right buttons!

How many Gusii men get hugs and "I love you" gestures after work? Please raise your hands behind the keyboard.

'Very few!:)

Luo women show practical love by stating it openly and without shame or pretence.

There is no electrifying gesture that raise your emotions of smile on your face and in your heart than when the First Lady or just a mere g/f say "I love you Steve!"

On hearing this I deliver accordingly! Even if it rain dogs and cats I will run to the store to buy milk or anything else for this mwananchi!

Yes, I have dated a Luo woman and she suprised me with a very nice shirt and pants that I wore to church following Sunday. Even when I got back to to my apartment I never wanted to remove it.

When I was at Church that day I was more attentive than ever and I could rehearse all the verses off-head just like that. That was the most dignifying and well-come gift I ever received from any woman.

God Bless Lake Victoria!

Our Gusii men have very low expectations from their women when it boils down to gift giving. They still believe in the old testament of a "man should provide for his family".

Therefore they expect only men to bring home the bread and butter and they will slice it and serve the family.

This is the year 2007 we need to try and grow from the olden ways. Buy your man something for change mwanyagetinge!

Try spice up the relationship just like dholuo women do. Wakienda sokoni kuuza samaki wanamnunulia the lucky man ka-shirt even if it is from Gikomba, Oyugis, Roret, or Sondu open markets mitumbas, etc.

Remember it is the motive that count not the price!

Romance:

This is where we rank very low even the maasais beat us!

We rank number one in gossip, arguing, criticisms, etc. I had this good close friend who criticised me over-and-over.

"Steve you talk too much!" Deep inside my heart I knew her days were numbered. I talk a lot because that how God want me to. I'm from the Bosamaro Clan and I must talk in order to make anything happen God Forbid!

Even President Bush talk a lot, so is the Pope, the United Nations Secretary, and President Mwai Kibaki, etc.

As soon as we shared one more date I was gone!

"Basamaro ntorikoriera nchoke morero" (My Samaro clan don't go get honey from the honey-combs with fire!"

The bees don't scare us off!

A luo woman will not mince words when it comes down to romance. Again, my research papers show this.

Let us let the cat out of the bag. Our People can move up the social family ladder if they can borrow a leaf or two from the friendly Dholuo neighbours.

Men are weak and just like children. If you give a child a candy bar they rejoice from the thrill and if you treat your man with some minor shadows of romance you will carry his wallet in your small hand-bag!

I respect this forum and I'm very much aware the former of the Republic of Kenya Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi read my postings and my brother in the spirit Zedekiah Nyanchama will appreciate if I keep things clean.

That said, I wish you a nice day! I will pick it from there next time wananchi!

Have a thoughtful and peaceful day!

Kind Rgds,

Steve
