Re:How about christian wedding?

There comes a time, when our young people decide to get married. As it is, there are three options that one can choose from. Depending on ones up bringing and beliefs, one can chose one of the following three options:

1.Agree to live together.
2.Decide to go the Government way
3.Decide to do a christian wedding.

I'll address myself to option number three. A lot of incidents have happened during the planning, on the wedding day, and shortly after the wedding that have compelled me to bring up this issue with the intent of helping our young people (assuming they are willing to listen." To start with, I wish to mention briefly three incidents:

1.At one wedding, the pride delayed for a long time. When they were about to give up, word came that the lady had been rushed to the hospital to have a baby. They waited for some more hours to allow for the delivery and time for her to make it to the function. She made it and the knot was tied.
2.At several weddings "strangers"(former girl friends/wives" have stormed and brought the wedding to a stop and of course with some damage.
3.There have been several cases where a child has been born a few months after the wedding.

These and many other incidents lead to the following suggestions and advise.

1.Do a thorough background check before you start planning for a wedding. Talk to your pastor, elders, parents, siblings, friends, church members and closer friends of the person you plan to spend your life with. Don't let the excitement nor his/her word to be final.
2.If you know that you have been living together, then please don't deceive the world by going for a christian wedding.
3.If you know that you are pregnant then please don't go for the christian wedding.
4.If you know that you have un solved issues, please don't pretend that everything is ok. Avoid hurting the feeling of he or she that you claim to love nor your ex and his/her family members.

As they say "prevention is better than cure." Do you believe that? If yes, then go for it. If no, then how about "experience is the best teacher?''

Just a thought.
