MASSIVE CORRUPTION ROCKS PROVINCIAL GENERAL HOSPITAL (P.G.H.)

A wave of corruption has marooned Provincial General Hospital (RUSSIA) with the immediate Medical Superintendant Dr. John Ouma Odondi being at the centre of a dubious tender row, which has sparked a bitter fury and controversy, with his successor Dr. Juliana Nyong’o.

Dr. Odondi, who has now been elevated to be the Provincial Medical Officer (PMO) Rift Valley, courtesy of his rapport with a Senior Deputy Director of Medical Services in-charge of posting, a Mr. Kimani, is alleged to have usurped the mandate of Dr. Juliana, by dramatically sneaking back to the institution recently, to award suppliers to some favourite companies he’s said to be nurturing interests in.

Its imperative and worth noting also that it’s the same Kimani who thwarted Dr. Odondi’s posting to Western Provincial Hospital early this year to assume the role of Medical Superintendant.

Impeccable sources within the financially crippling outfit, confided to the press how Dr. Nyong’o was shocked to learn that the procurement procedures had been totally contravened, to her chagrin and the entire committee members.

Dr. Odondi was early this year in the news, to have been exhibiting high handedness to nurses and even to fellow doctors, which lead to discontent and protests from enraged members of the public, who agitated for the government's quick intervention to salvage them from his shackles, arrogance and general apathy.

At one time, the said Odondi had to suspend a renown Kisumu City based Gynacologist widow due to the fact that she wasn’t in a position to stand in for a fellow Gynacologist polygamist, who was said to be having social errands instead of attending to patients. Quick intervention of Health Minister, Charity Ngilu salvaged the hapless widow Gynacologist from the wrath of Odondi.

Two board members further confided to this journalist how entrenched the financial rip off is the hallmark of everything at the Hospital, siting the perpetual construction of Victoria Hospital, which is an amenity of the same institution.

The 16 bed Victoria hospital, with one operating theatre, was initially to cost 6 million, according to the auditors. But surprisingly and interestingly, the refurbishment has gone to an alarming staggering cost of 18 million without properly laid down procedures being adhered to.

A clique of the looting cartel at P.G.H are further being accused to have registered companies bearing names of their cronies to do painting works, among other fictitious dealings.

The newly posted Medical Superintendant Dr. Juliana Nyong'o, could not be reached for comment, her phones remained unanswered through out the day.
