Re: Assassination Attempt On Civil Society Leaders

Birundu,

I have not heard from you in a long time. But we are together in this. Orina tells me it is a systemic problem, whatever that is.

But be asured that I am firmly in the struggle to remove this government by all means legal from power.

I saw this long time ago, when the civil society players were still positioning themselves for government appointments. When this did not come, most did not know how to approach the issues. Most did not even know how to question the excesses of this government.

At that time, personally, I had decided that Kibaki was up to no good for this country. His mission was driven by me, I and myself syndrome. I did not position myself for any government job. I went straight and articulated the issues I thought Kibaki was failing in.

But now that no jobs have been given, we must join hands and chart a course that will make most Kenyans see the damage Kibaki has wrought on Kenyans.

We must all face up to our MPs for being greedy; we must all face up to the wanton tribalism as brought back by Kibaki; we must all face up to the juggernut that is corruption as presided over by Kibaki.

I do not want to be the excuse when we face up to the wrong issues. But I want us all to be genuine in our desire for change for this country.

I will say it again; I had a lot of faith in Kibutha Kibwana, formerly of NCEC. But what became of him once he was appointed a government minister? Someone will tell me colective responsibility. No. The man was simply no reformer. He was a pretender, just like some of our colleagues in the civil society.

The man was just mad that he had not been appointed to any meaningful position that could help put bread on his familys' table. The moment he got that, all reform agenda in his head evaporated.

What could make me trust that any of the current reform crusaders are genuine? Nothing. All pro reform activists who got employed by this government have all gone to sleep with the big pay they earn.

Tell me, if you are employed by government, do you stop seeing the mistakes commited by the same government?

I would expect all reform minded people to keep talking whenver there is need to talk. All those civil rights activists who became employed by this tribal government, can they not tell that Kibaki has presided over massive tribalism?

Can they not tell that corruption in very big magnitudes have been planned and executed at State House? Can they not tell that we still have no new constitution? Can they not tell that Kenyans are being killed alive by high cost of living?

No my brother. I see things so clearly, and to this extent, I am a serious team player in the reform agenda that we all want for Kenya. I will be the next councilor for Komarock, but I do not want to be given as a token, I want to fight it out, and I am confident Kenyans will vote for me, because I have been talking their languge, not double speak.
