The Students Front for Democratic Change (SFDC) has welcomed the declaration by former President Moi to support his successor President Kibaki in the forthcoming General Elections.

Moi’s support confirms our earlier concerns that the two had met and planned on how to lock out youthful leaders with progressive vision.

Following a meeting the two held at State House recently and also attended by leading parliamentary and civic aspirants in Nairobi, Moi and Kibaki plotted on ways of how to destabilize the growing support the opposition is currently enjoying countrywide.

As students we have reliably learnt that President Kibaki and his team are planning to fund the aspirants campaign and plant government friendly candidates in the opposition.

The main target of this grand scheme is the opposition especially, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) led by the luminaries, Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, William Ruto and Najib Balala.

“ Former President Moi is determined to fight the ODM to the end”.

We would like to caution the electorate, especially the youth, to be extra vigilant to forestall any machinations to stop the reformist’s grand march to State House.

We are asking Kalonzo Musyoka and Uhuru Kenyatta not to be hoodwinked into entering into any pact with the Kibaki team.

We also urged Charity Ngilu and Ford Kenya Chairman Musikari Kombo and their supporters to once again be part of the reform agenda as they have been in the past.

Kibaki and his henchmen cannot be trusted to honour any political promises made to their colleagues.

" The president is likely to sit back and let his kitchen cabinet frustrate and derail any agreement reached to re-elect him,”

We caution the President and his team that they have not seen anything yet and should watch out for the unfolding events.

“ Their schemes and machinations will not intimidate Kenyan and the People’s President shall reign”.
