Re: A plea to PKS

Much has been written and said of Honorable Raila,ODM presidential candidate.Of the many things I have observed with great interest and appreciation, is his giving credit to his late father for what he has become.Whatever he learned from his father, has helped him to become a politician he has become.

Like his father,he has worked hard to become the president of the Republic of Kenya. And who knows,he might be the next president, come January 2008.

Like Honorable Rail, some of children whose parents were once presidents of certain countries have followed their parent's career by becoming presidents themselves.

But I will leave that to the students of politics.Today,my concern is on another very special group of individuals-The pastors kids.

From your Dad, pastor,

1.You learned the precious word of God.You watched and heard your father read, teach and preach.
2.You learned what it means to sacrifice in the Lords vineyard. You do recall the financial challenges and how the good Lord provided each day at a time.
3.You learned that not all God's children love their pastor.Remember the finger pointing, name calling, and cursing?
4.You learned the importance of visitation as from time to time you missed Dad due to visitation of members or you accompanied him to visitation.
5.You learned how to resolve conflicts.Remember those many hours your father spent in solving issues? They were not in vain.
6.You learned of God's faithfulness to those who have accepted the call to pastoral ministry despite it's many challenges.

Well, unlike the former president's children, not many pastor's children say yes to pastoral ministry. Many can tell you that they felt the call for a long time but said NO.

But,I wish to challenge you, my friend, to rise up and carry on the torch of the good news from where your Dad left it. With all the knowledge of the truth that you have, the education that you have attained, and the resources that you have, you Can not afford just to sit while souls are perishing.

If you are already actively involved in growing God's kingdom, then please go a head.If not, then please wake up and pick it up from where you might have become lazy.

And for those whose parents are still active in the ministry, join your father in spreading the good news. Will you?

Just a thought.
