We Still Need the Kajwan'gs

Mr. P. Otieno,

You are an interested party in Mbita politics, and nobody should deny you this fact. But should not take unlimited pleasure in dragging Hon Odinga's name into you clan politic. Nethiether should you deny the fact that Hon. Kajwan'g is a very highly visible National player in politics. Mr. P. Otieno, let us agree on the fact that there are two types of players in Kenyan politics (of course either type can be corrupt): There are the Pork Barrel Politicians who will do anything to bring developemnt funds to to their constituencies. Then there are the Change-Agitators like Hon. Kajwan'g who are always a thorn-in-flesh of the establishemnt. The roads in the constituencies represented by the change-agitators are often unattended to because of the confrontational nature of their politics.

I am sorry, Mr. P. Otieno, you the people of Mbita elected Hon. Kajwan'g--- a man you knew to be a rebel. He was a rebel from Homa Bay High and the University where his fast fist never missed its target (even in the August House). Kajwa'ng is an effective national legislator, but he may not be the best pork hunter. There are a number of people in Mbita who love him as an agitatator for change so that in the Devolved System of Goverment (we are all yearnig for), MBITA would get its share of the national cake without its MP begging the powers that be for leftovers.

If you want fire him, do so without bringing in the name of Hon. Odinga; he has weightier issues to deal with in bringing together a winning national coalition. If Hon. Kajwan'g beats his opponents in the ODM nominations, and they still wish to continue, hey, let them face him from PNU or KANU. Aren't we are in the multi-party era.
