"Kibaki 'won't use state funds for campaigns'
Story by NATION Reporter
Publication Date: 10/5/2007

Government funds will not be used to campaign for President Kibaki's re-election, Finance minister Amos Kimunya said yesterday"

{end quote}

This is my dilemma. Either I do not understand english well to comprehend what this Minister is trying to tell Kenyans or the Minister thinks Kenyans do no see what is going on presently. President Kibaki has been campaigning for a while now for his second term. All the times he has had to travel to any part of the country he travels with an entourage. This includes public servants i.e. PCs, DCs, DOs and Chiefs. He uses his presidential limousine. Recently we saw this during the city tour prior to launching PNU. The question to the Minister of Finance, Mr. Kimunya, what do you call these resources? Are they PNU resources, Kibaki's personal resources, his friends's resources or are they resources that are paid for by the Kenyan tex money an in effect Kenya government resources. Here you are telling kenyans the President will not use government resources, what a thoughtless lie? At least Moi used to hide by using his VW Minivans during the campaigns. Doesn't Kibaki has any personal vehicles and non government employees to use during his campaigns?
