KIBAKI PROMISES.

sent by Mijoro Awuma Samson

Our president sometime back promised to carry out door-to-door vote seeking campaign accross the country. This is yet another promise that the President seems to have reneged on, let alone MoU. He seems to have come to his senses after realising the fact that his plan is humanly impossible to carry out since it would mean knocking 2.900.000 doors in 90 days. Not even the angels could want to take up such a task.

If it was to be effected he could have knocked 32222 doors per day before 27th December 2007. This is a target that not even an economist like himself could ever achieve. If it were possibile to knock at least 100 doors per day, a taxing job with his age, it could take him 79 years to carry out the task effectively, may be he could be more than149 years old by the time he knocks the 2.900.000th door. On this promise our dear President seems to have taken us ( the watumbavu, mavi ya kuku ) again for a ride. And, even knocking the door of a poor Bukusu widow did not lessen her social and financial burdain. It just reminded her of the arrogance of the powerfully rich.

Our President was popularly elected in 2002 on a zero tolerance platform against corruption. In his current campaign trails now the word 'corruption' is not only studiously but also loudly missing from his boring speaches!!! All we hear is that he has caused development and therefore kazi iendelee!! The 6.1% develoment seems to be taking place all around the world irrespective of our President.

In his campaigns the President offers nothing new to Kenyans as he is busy actively dishing out to the people what is already their basic rights like the new disticts, universities, all which will be funded by the taxpayer. It is obvious that to our President we are still watumbavu mavi ya kuku since we could not tell whether we are being fooled by him or not.

It is the acme of arrogance to see our incumbent President going around the country campaigning with absolutely no new ideas. At least for the first time we are now beginning to realise that indeed he has nothing to offer to the masses since he cannot spell them out honestly and publicly. He and his PNU team are only perfect at demonising the undemoniseable, Raila Odinga.

That he has chosen never to refer to the word corruption in his campaigns, what would make us trust that he could not thrive in it even at a doubled or trebbled level were we to be fooled into electing back to office? Mr. President seems to think that he is the only person who has read the story of the camel and the house owner since he keeps his silence as GEMA kicks 80% Kenyans out of the economy and development right into extinction.

For 44 years Kenyans have been made so poor by the powerful presidency that we are forced to literally vote with our stomachs. Kibaki must now know that we have refused once and for all to vote him back a second time.

GEMA several times failed to vote him to presidency on a DP ticket and it is obvious that they are less likely to succeed in voting him back on PNU one where he is already obviously ethnically giving special treatment to Uhuru Kenyatta's KANU as opposed to other PNU affiliates.

This same President treated Arturs brothers with babies gloves using taxpayers' money and the people's state security. He has also behaved as though corrution does not exist in Kenya. What if Al-Qaeda were to pay him respect with billions of dollars could he and his corrupt mount Kenya kitchen cabinet resist pocketing the money and making Kenya a launcing pad to terrorism? It frightening to imagine such happening.

It is nice that he has referred to the late Dr.Toweett was a clever man at his funeral. If he was clever then why did he ignore him in the honest development of our beloved country? Did he he have to wait for his death in order to praise him?

To add insult to injuries, Mr. President is using not only our airforce but also our provincial administration in his campaign to remain in state house as we the general public, the watumbavu mavi ya kuku, are paying the salaries and maintainig the airforce with our taxes.
