Plot to Dump Kombo, Moody, Saitoti and Kirwa Revealed:
Uhuru Double Speak Confirm the Fears
Can Kibaki Be Trusted?

News about Uhuru Kenyatta double-speak about his ambition to become Kenya’s President after Kibaki comes as no surprise. Uhuru Kenyatta is part of an elaborate plan by Central Province politicians to ensure that the Presidency never leaves the House of Mumbi. A group of Central Province politicians have promised to groom Uhuru to take over the Presidency in 2012 should Kibaki win another term in office on December 2007.

A state House source revealed that Kibaki has been secretly meeting with top leaders from Central Province on a regular basis to chart the way forward for the future of the House of Mumbi over the national interest. This is the main reason why Uhuru was prevailed upon to join the Kibaki team but given enough concessions as KANU leader. It was also done to ensure that the House of Mumbi does not give up the Presidency to another community even after 2012 incase Kibaki wins on December 2007.

The group planning how this issue will be handled include Njenga Karume, John Michuki and Stanley Murage among others. They have also prevailed upon Kibaki to abandon Awori, Kombo, Saitoti and Kirwa and groom Kenyatta as the next President if he wins the upcoming elections. Our source says that the group is so secret that even members of the Ameru and Aembu have not been included. The argument is that they will obviously support a Kikuyu come 2012.

In one of their discussions, the source revealed that the group discussed a way of duping Luhyas as a community to support Kibaki and giving them nothing in return. This is the main reason why Kibaki refused to name Kombo as a running mate. The group also analyzed the influence of Moody in western Province against Kombo, Kituyi and Wekesa and concluded that none of them could stop the ODM wave in Western Province .They thus decided to give the Luhya leaders the impression that they will be a major part of Kibaki’s government if he wins.

While analyzing the situation in Rift valley, the group considered the consequences of naming Kipruto Kirwa as Kibaki’s running mate, an idea they said originated from former President Daniel Arap Moi. Moi had argued that making Kirwa a running of Kibaki would clip the ODM wave in Rift valley by silencing former Eldoret North MP William Ruto who is a member of the powerful Pentagon Group of ODM but also give him a tool for campaigning with for Kibaki. But Moi’s suggested was rejected as the group argued that it would be very difficult to dump Kirwa after the elections were he to be named the running mate. These developments have reached Saitoti’s ears and he is very uncomfortable at the moment with the Kibaki Group even going as far as claiming that someone in PNU wants him to loose the Kajiado North parliamentary seat. These fears are well founded as some of the members of his group feel that Saitoti is an outsider in Central and therefore not the best bet for the Presidency even after Kibaki.

While the group needs Moi’s help, they have acknowledged that Moi is “mortally wounded” by the Kroll Report, which revealed that the former President and his family looted public coffers to the tune of more than Kshs.130 billion. They have decided to encourage Moi to continue his campaigns against ODM in Rift valley but some members in the group are cautious with this arrangement arguing that it may backfire and hurt Kibaki. The group has decided that the VP slot should be left vacant and dangled to other communities especially the Luhyas and the Kalenjins but also to Coastals to campaign and vote for Kibaki.

Sources further reveal that Kibaki made a secret deal with Moi never to prosecute him for crimes committed during his era on condition that Moi contributes Kshs.3 billion to Kibaki’s campaign kitty but also campaign against Raila in Rift valley. Moi took the deal in utter desperation and having no alternative. Moi would thus do anything he is told by this group and has become almost a hostage of Central Province politicians. But some members of the Kibaki Group were not comfortable with the deal saying that it would give ODM an upper hand on the platform of Corruption.

The real reason behind the formation of PNU was also revealed. It was to ensure that Kibaki gave other parties like Ford-K and Ford-P, the illusion of being part of the government, while in real sense they are not. Kombo took this bait and Ford-K is the only party that is headed to oblivion in the PNU coalition as Kikuyu parties like Safina, Narc-Kenya and DP decided to field candidates in their own names after some lost in the PNU nominations. Kibaki inner circle have hatched a plan to keep all the non-Kikuyu members of PNU think that the VP is coming their way and to hold them to campaign and vote for Kibaki. After the elections and incase Kibaki wins, all these plans will be implemented. That’s why KANU was being given a lot of space and concessions at the expense of other parties forming PNU.
