Re: Lessons from the Kenyan elections!

Dear friends,

It's no secret that Kenya will go into polls on December 27th,2007 to chose her leaders for the next five years. The world in general and Kenyans in particular are eagerly waiting to see what December 27th will bring to Kenya.

In the run up to the elections, a lot has been written trying to promote candidates of our choice. I recently wrote to so many of my relatives and friends back home asking them to vote for a party and candidate that I think will be suitable for the job. Besides,I pray every single day that "God's will be done."

I want to salute all those in diaspora who have spent hours airing their views. As you might guess,I read and analyze each one of the articles.

In the process,I have learned or observed very important lessons. Here are some of them.

1.We all have enough time to do anything when and if we chose to.
2.In trying to prove others wrong,we have gone into the archives of Kenyan history to see what was said by who and when.
3.We are willing and ready to forgive our candidates for what they might be accused of.
4.We strongly believe that our candidate/s will bring the most needed changes in Kenya. 5.The support for our candidates has been overwhelming. We have done some or all the following:
A.Sacrificed and donated money
B.Campaigned for our candidates here and back home.
C.We have daily monitored the opinion polls to see what others think of our candidates.

While I have taken and continue to take active part in all the above,as a minister I have one crucial election that means so much to me.I have enrolled as a very active member in the war between the devil and our God.

As you know very well,we are living amidst the perils of the last days. While the good Lord is doing everything possible to have every one of His children saved,the devil has tripled his efforts to "destroy if possible the very elect."

And so my questions to you my dear friends are:
1.Do you have family members,friends,colleagues and neighbors?
2.Do you love and care for them?
3.How is it with their souls?
4.How much time to you spend praying for them?
5.What efforts have you made if any to warn them of the impending destruction.
6.What have you done to dispel the devil's wrong teaching about our God?
7 Are you for or against the devil?
8.When was the last time that you checked to make sure that you have all the necessary documents that heaven requires of every candidate?
9.Assuming you are sleeping,what will it take to wake you up?
10.Are you sure that you have your priorities right?

Oh how I pray that now than ever before we should realize that our salvation is nearer than when we first believed!
