TO ALL CONCERNED BRETHREN

From: JOHN ASIGO

Last week, I saw a phrase on KTN quoted by the late Martin Luther King which really confirmed what I have been feeling for a long time now. The phrase went something

Like this: “when you keep silent then it is the beginning of death”. I can not remember the exact words but it really ministered to me.

One thing is very clear nonetheless that the Devil is working 72 hours round the clock non stop and he is using Christians to achieve his means and he seems to be winning big time. The most heart breaking thing is that our Church Leaders are busy in silence with other agendas and this does not smell right whatever way we choose to look at it. Let me draw your kind attentions to some facts:

1. Many have died and displaced in the clashes of Kuresoi – Mt Elgon and Molo, but there has not been any Press Conference held or Press Release put in the papers to call upon the government to look into this matter protect its people.

2. Our Former President who is born again and has been on a hate campaign for so long yet no man of God has spoken against this. It has become normal and acceptable. Shouldn’t our Bishops and Pastors rebuke him?? Did God not send his prophets to Kings who were out of line?

3. We have a Presidential Candidate who is born again and has been busy on a hatred campaign surrounded with arrogance and other things. Yet this candid Bishop or Pastor dares to rebuke him and remind him about the word of God which preaches love and humility.

4. Our current President entered an MOU which was a covenant and when he broke this covenant no one has ever dared to approach him and correct him in accordance to the word of God. Yet we all know that God enthrones and de-thrones all leaders.

5. Not long ago, we read about Pastors who have fallen and shortly afterwards we also saw Bishops and Pastors at a Press Conference disowning them. Why did none of them stand with them and correct them? Surely Jesus would have done this as with the Prostitute woman and even Zaccheus the tax collector.

6. We read about Anglo Leasing in the papers and everyone was so appalled but guess what? No Bishop or Pastor held a Press Conference or no Press Release was put in the Papers to condemn this form of corruption and even stand up for John Githongo.

7. Then came the Artur Brothers and the alleged propaganda of them being mercenaries and even then the Church did not condemn this matter at a Press Conference or issue a Press Release even when their own brethren were victims in the raid in the KTN and Standard newspaper offices.

8. Then came the Mungikis and many were first killed in Banana and other areas in Nairobi where many more have been killed or falsely accused. Still no Bishop or Pastor held a Press Conference or issued a Press Release to call upon the government to protect the people.

9. There is so much abuse towards women and children even among those that go to the house of the lord. By the way Bishops and Pastors are not at all spared from this abuse. Yet no Press Conferences or Press Releases have condemned this act.

10. Tribalism is so rampant in the Church and guess what again, Bishops and Pastors are just as guilty of this, yet no Press Conferences or Press Releases had condemned this act and preached love, reminding all that we are equal in the eyes of God.

Instead we have all seen and head SILENCE, which is now killing all of us. We are in bondage with SILENCE and we need serious DELIVERANCE. How is it that Church Members are not allowed to get away with hatred campaigns and wrong doings yet former Presidents or potential ones are above the word? Bishops and Pastors need to tell us what qualifies them. What is the difference and what makes there sins better than ours?

Nevertheless, there are other issues which seem to have been more important than any of the above for they warranted some Press Conferences and Press Releases:

We read about Church leaders falling yet others are busy disassociating themselves yet the word of God preaches love. We also read about Jesus and the Prostitute woman in the bible.

The REFERENDUM in 2005 really fired up the Church and many Press Conferences were held. What was the motive behind their stand? We even have on record Pastors who preached that Christians should vote NO only to go back and Vote YES or change their stands. That is when the Devil started his work.

The recent MOUs with another religion got them all fired up and Press Conferences and Press Releases have been removed although this has clearly divided the church leaders as their agenda is not at all clear. What happened to love or approaching the parties of the MOU like other Bishops and Pastors did to show them the way?

Many of us feel alone and without guidance at this time. One thing is for sure and I thank God for his word that cautions us not to put our trust in man. We can not afford this at this time. Instead we need to get on our knees and cry out to the lord to help us. If revival will come to us we can be assured that it will not be through these men and women of God but through our prayers and God’s mercy towards us. We need to pray for our Church leaders that they will awake from the slumber which the enemy has engaged them in.

These are the last days and the Church is in great trouble. Muslims and other religions are challenging us to rise up and stop the hypocrisy and they are not off the mark, they are very right. We are supposed to love our neighbors and our enemies yet we hate them contrary to the word of God.

We can no longer afford to be silent but let us speak out and be heard by our Bishops and Pastors. We need men and women of God who are righteous and will stand up and tell our leaders when they are out of line. We need more Bishop Muge and Bishop Okullos and at this rate we may pray to the lord to allow them to come back and teach us how to stand for Jesus.

We not only need change in our politics, we need real change in the house of God through a mighty revival. We all need to remember that Presidents will come and go but Jesus is everlasting and he has given us the responsibility to win souls for him not turn them away.

Mine is not to condemn anyone but only to point out that we can no longer afford to look the other way, we must act before its too late. As it is many have simply stopped going to Church and are instead praying for a revival even if it means that all Churches remain empty, so be it. Enough is enough and the Devil must go back to Hades.
