Re: LATEST-LUCY KIBAKI SLAPS M.C,CONFISCATES CAMERAS ,,,,, AT S/HOUSE!

Sam,

I wonder if Lucy was also involved in that 2002 road accident. It's surely embarrassing. I would understand if ..........let me hold that thought. Somebody said she was a teacher & teachers are notorious of slapping pupils in Kenya. Which primary school was she teaching at?

We need some dignity at State House. If it's wrong, it's wrong. I have no bad feelings. I would outrightly condemn Mrs. Ida Odinga if she did the same thing. I guess she needs to see a doctor. Something aint right.......mara she's a Professional "slapper" and I hear the partner knows how to curse real good....like ??? ya kuku or ???avu.....for another 5 years!

I guess Redykyullass are about to unleash another one. If you think I am lying....here we go:

Steve,

You surprise me by discussing Lucy Kibaki as if she was president's appointees. I guess you folks back home new Lucy by the time Kibaki president. Otherwise, to ridicule her here I find it offensive. It is neither here nor there.

When I go back to themdays that I knew Kibaki and Lucy back in 1992- at their Muthaiga residence, Lucy was still a "Mathare type". She would unleash terror to her neighbours. And at one time, rumour has it that she had been a visitor to mathare hospital. (can not confirm). Clearly, huyu ni mgonjwa. And I guess that is why Kibaki went for a second one and does not comment about it publicly. You may want to see it differently, its your prerogative.

However, I would find it quite un-ethical to attack a mgonjwa just for the fun of it. Especially so, if we are aiming at focusing on real issues affecting the Kenya public. I dont think with or without Lucy it really matters to the Kenyan public when corruption, economic mis-management etc comes in to play.

People,

How does an MC in a state function, and someone who should know something about protocol, forget the First Lady's names?

I listened to some local radios and callers were suggesting that the man was planted by the opposition; someone called even said the fellow will be rewarded well should ODM come to power in January.

Lucy's action was predictable; she has done it before over and over; indeed, the little we have seen during Kibaki's presidency is only a little of what she has done in Kibaki's public life. To many people, therefore, as embarrassing as this was, it is NOT news. They think she is sick and needs treatment; and they call for empathy not condemnation.

Take your pick.

Unedited.

Matunda,

There is no excuse for reprehensible behaviour no matter who the perpetrator is. As married people we know our spouses and therefore should be able to avoid certain circumstances especially where there is pomp, glamour and diplomacy to the country at stake during such important memorable occasions. It is truly proposterous even ridiculous for anyone to suggest that the MC was planted by ODM because I don't think when plans like that are made they pick a "Joe Small" to be an MC for an event like that. I therefore believe that whoever was picked was carefully selected, even the article stated clearly that He was a High ranking government official. Having knocked that theory out of the water, it leaves the factual understanding everyone knows by now that first lady has been known to have mental issues. In my younger days I was actually privy to the fact that it led her husband into excessive drinking and hence more issues in the house. I knew the family well back then. That being said does not condone her reprehensible behaviour, tongue slippages happen. The likes of Matere Keriri can bear witness as well as Hon VP Awori who in some form or another knew first hand what that meant.

It reminds me of one would have been former first lady Linah Moi who because of the similar incidents was banished by her husband out of of the limelight so that you never heard or knew about her until her death (sadly). A real leader knows how to deal with situations good or bad but enhances his leadership by the decisions he makes.

In my view first lady is going to hurt her husband even more because we just cannot afford to have more of the same for the next five years. Charity starts at home. It is election time, a time to evaluate our achievements as well as set tone to where we are going and what our options are. To me there's got to be a better way and change is good.

Still thinking....

Bwana Kutondo,

Looks like everything "must" be blamed on Raila, even by some of these learned folks.

One of these days when a fly drops dead on Kibaki's shoes or say she slaps a fly dead on kibaki's feet... then you know where some of these folks will put the blame - Raila.

Isnt it senseless? Well, first or last Lady (whichever) has a great role in the office of the "Presidency". Management begins with the individual. It's hard to manage an entire country when you cannot manage your own wife". I bet the excuse is "sickness" which might be genuine (because these brutal acts are out of the ordinary) Perhaps, baba should spend the graceful autumn years of his life taking care of Mama Lucy. Well, let the people decide. those polls are showing 10 points difference between the top contenders.

Enough on Lucy's behavior. Even Matunda knows this assault was damn wrong.  Pray for Kibaki's family and especially for Lucy. Also pray for other presidential contenders & for the peace of all Kenyans as we go to the polls.

Nice weekend.

Steve Aseno.
