It's the only reasonable solution!

Dear friends,

I have told myself several times to leave the situation back in the motherland in the hands of God but every time I read of the latest or new development, I find myself into it again.

I can now understand why Jesus while on earth was so upset with the way they had turned the house of God into a money changing market that He decided to chase them out of it.

I am truly disappointed by the way the leaders have handled the situation back home. To read of so many dying daily and their only homes torched has been a very painful experience indeed.

In this whole bizarre situation, I have found myself recalling some Biblical quotations and asking hard soul searching questions. Here are some statements and questions.

1.Shall the world ever know what happened during the tarrying of the election results, the announcement of the winner, and the swearing ceremony?

One thing that is clear is that there are people who know exactly what transpired but for reasons known to them have chosen to be rather silent while Kenya continue to burn.

Besides them, the good Lord knows every minute detail. And since only He knows who is telling the truth, He will solve this case in ways that it will be come clear that God is not like us.

2.The Bible tells us that "there was a time in Israel that there was no king and each one did that which they thought was good." Hearing young people say in public that since the Govt has failed to protect them they will now protect themselves, leaves one to wonder what awaits the majority poor Kenyans.

And so I ask over and over, what's the best solution to solve the stand off situation?

Well, since everyone is searching for a solution, I might as well throw one out there.

Unlike many of you, some of us were not born smart. We worked extra hard to make it. I failed my standard 7 national examination although I had a feeling that I had passed.

I was faced with several very challenging options:

  1. Blame those who marked the examination and leave it there.
  2. Quit school and become a farmer.
  3. Repeat the examination.

I chose to repeat the examination and sure enough made it.

But how does this apply in the situation back home?

Here is my take:

In as much as the world knows that:

  1. Both candidates claim to have won elections.
  2. There was a problem in the tallying of votes.

It only sounds reasonable to plan for another election. In this way,

  1. Both candidates will know who really won.
  2. We will spare the country and the people.
  3. All these unneccessary killings and destroying of property will stop.

To continue to ignore the world may end up destroying Kenya to the point of no repair.

And so to the leaders I appeal,"please try to listen before its too late." Will you?

Just a thought.
