SPEAKER ELECTION? DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH.

Mon, 14 Jan 2008 21:49:46 -0500

Dear Kenyans

So, the Speaker of the 10th parliament will be elected tomorrow. PLEASE DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH. AVOID A HEART ATTACK OR DISAPPOINTMENT. Rather, harden your heart to a prearranged loss and like a soldier poised to fight a longer battle, psych your family and mind. This election has already been rigged if we have to go by the state of current affairs.

Remember, we registered to vote, trusted that our votes would matter, but the results were rigged at worst, and uncertain at best even to date. I was in Nairobi and saw the rigging machine and power system with my very own eyes. It sobered me from dreams with my 10th great grandfather, Ragem. Kenya had come a long way, but is now further behind than it was during Moi's era.

Look. The candidates and the voters put too much faith in our young democracy. We trusted that the integrity of a few Kenyans was intact. Unfortunately, either through threats, bribes or the tribalism disease, integrity was thrown out the window.

As much as I now dislike Kavuitu, he has raised serious doubts regarding the results he announced hurriedly. The international community is questioning the election outcome and is keenly watching attempts on mediation.

Kibaki and his cronies stole the elections and are now making a mockery at the said mediation efforts. They have even threatened to expel and/or severe diplomatic relations with the Nations that are refusing to turn a blind eye to the election theft. They want the whole world to acknowledge the illegitimate government.

How now can we even expect that Kibaki and his cronies will loose the vote for Speaker when the legitimacy of their government relies heavily on them winning this vote? If it was difficult to rig a vote of over ten million Kenyans, how hard is it to corrupt the minds of a few politicians? I put it to you that this vote is already decided, and ODM will merely be participating as rug is pulled right under their feet

At this point you can call me a pessimist, but I am a new realist. Yet there may still be a few good Kenyan politicians, and Kenya's tomorrow may come after all. A few good Kenyans may surprisingly save the Kenyan dream tomorrow. These Kenyans may be moles in either party.

My advice is: DO NOT COUNT ON IT. AVOID A HEART ATTACK TO FIGHT THE NEXT WAR. EFFECTIVE WEDNESDAY, MAKE KENYA UNGOVERNABLE, AND PLEASE SUSTAIN THE PRESSURE, AND DO NOT STOP UNTIL KIBAKI STEPS DOWN! WHEN YOU CATCH A HYENA BY THE TAIL, NEVER LET GO.

Just a thought, Slovenia is now the Chair of EU. How old is Slovenia? A few years ago Slovenia was unimaginable. How about Republic of Rift Valley, Western & Winam? We must now seriously think deeper about our plight.
