RE: FEATURE: How Kenya's election was rigged

We tend to worry about great things while paying very little attention to small things. But if anything, what we have witnessed in the motherland, has taught us that one meditated act can bring a country down.

It all started with a decision by some people to tamper with election. Due to that one act, the world has witnessed some madness like no any other. If you can, reflect on the following:

  • Innocent lives have been lost
  • Property have been destroyed.
  • Thousands of innocent Wananchi have been displaced.
  • The decision by some churches to take sides has tainted the image of the church. I read yesterday that some members of some churches have opted to quit going to church altogether.
  • Traveling has become a nightmare.
  • Marriages have been affected. What has happened will affect inter-marriage for a long time.
  • Education has been affected for ever.
  • On the other hand, what happened has now helped us to understand the following:

We now know who is who among the politicians.

  • Some see themselves first as their tribes and then Kenyans
  • That power corrupts.

Whichever way this situation will come to an end, some things remain crystal clear:

  • Politicians will not take Wananchi/things for granted any more.
  • We will be forced as a people/Nation to address some of the issues that we have ignored for a long time.
  • Whoever becomes the president, will be careful on whom they appoint to what position.
  • The world will watch us from here on.

Finally and most important, let us be careful of those acts that we consider as in-significant. Shall we?

Just a thought.
