Me and the clothes!

Are there some things in life that you don't like? I have a list of them that I either don't like or pay too much attention to. Close to the top is clothes.

When I was young, I wore shorts not so much because I liked them, but rather because that was what my parents would afford. Furthermore, shorts were part of the school uniform that was required of all students,at least in all my elementary and high schools.

When I started working,I decided not to have anything to do with shorts simply because they reminded me of a very bitter life of poverty. I, therefore, opted for pants due to the fact that, among other things, they covered my not-too-attractive legs.

After my wedding,I started wearing suits. I particularly found them applicable for church services. However, suits have always posed a challenge to me due to my inability to figure out the chemistry of matching. I, therefore, confessed a long time ago that "I was not smarter than my wife and children," when it came to matching clothes.

The form of clothing that has been of great concern to my family members, church members, and friends is the FedexKinkos uniform. You should have seen the reaction whenever they come to my place of work. The reaction has always been anywhere from "you look different," to "Wow!"

The kind that everyone who has seen it including myself love, is my terminal graduation garment. If It were possible, I would have worn this garment everyday and everywhere, not so much to show off, but rather in deepest appreciation for that which the Lord has done for me. I have worn it a few times when preaching, and belief me when I say that it was the talk of the day.

But of all the clothes, there is one garment that I truly love with all my heart and can, without any excuse and doubt, spend all my money to buy and wear everywhere.

Do you want to know which one it is? It's the garment of Christ's righteousness! How about you my friend?

Just a thought.
