Yala Swamp aka Dominion Group Issue: Fail to Plan, Plan to fail

Okoth Otura,

So we are in this discussion either as satisfied children or as hungry children. I did not know this. You want development Period. You think Development is when Foreigners use your labour and water, lime, coca cola and Dasani to make Millions export Profits and leave you dry like a squeezed lemon. The Top down approach of development never worked and will never work. The community must own it or it is not on. (Kwale's Titanium Mining is yet another exemplification). That is why I have raised the economic and social aspects of the project- Away from the Environment Impact Assessment Which I think Dr. Peter Okoth has handled very well.

20 Years from today, there will be Zero accumulated wealth for the people of Siaya. Indians will move in and start milling, (you know this with fish). The Americans will export the profit and the whole area from Usenge ( where my late teacher Okello Ben Lobengula was burried -on a light touch) to Busia will be wasted land. Depleted.

If you fail to plan. You are planning to Fail. This is the message I wanted to Pass to Tobby before he asked " To kill or not to Kill?" You can not be simplistic about a complex discussion. "Eti what we want is school fees for the children". We must get serious. There is no more practical person than yours truly. I thank you.
