Villagers protest against company-Dominion Farms,Ltd.

From: Lucia Akech

Wazungu  chalo thuol mar rahi kombe, kendo gin jomecho maonge gi wich kuot. Sani giloko ohala mar yedhe mag wich bar Kibera kam jomathogre odakie. Manyiso ni ok gin kanyo mar kelo dongruok.     Jomecho matiyo gi nying Yeu!!!

There were cheer leaders who acted like "prostitutes" and helped this guy, Calvin Burgess, get the opportunity to plant his tentacles in Nyanza using "Jesus Christ the Savior" as a ploy.

All Christians must know the verse "Beware of wolves in a sheep's clothing". Additionally anybody with Kenya's High School education is aware of history of the colonization of Africa which was done after the journeys of discovery. The Missionaries were sent en masse with the sole purpose of taming the beasts called the Africans. They had to be persuaded to be humble. The rewards for their humility would be awiting them in heaven after death!!   If these missionaries had the humility as intended by Jesus Christ, there would be no poverty in Africa to the level you see it today.

Africa is a very rich continent and all of its riches are monopolized by foreigners supported by our elites in power. Kenya is now being govern by people who had dominated South African government for years.

Mr. Calvin Burgess used a brand new method of exploiting the Africans using Africans overseas who have contacts with poor folks back home. In cases where a venture capitalist cannot find these types of African,  they foreigners operate through NGOs which are used to find those  get- rich-quick locals who may not have stakes in the properties eyed by these foreigners. These "get-rich-at- any-cost" locals become the front guys for they persuadeng poor people to depart with properties of interest. Since these get-rich-quick locals do not have required money to form partnership, they enter into some fake ones written  by the foreign partner with money and, of course, power (money speaks).

Mr. Burgess must  also have solicited/paid selected Luo personalities to spread the good news in the media. In order to succeed in getting that property, the appearance of  support of the Luo community in the targeted area and in the media were vital. This enabled the sneaky bribes prone power brokers in the government to give blessing the project with ease.

I do not know what the cheer leaders were promised for their successful hard work. In any case, they have been outsmarted by Mr. Burgess. Getting concession from the guy may prove a daunting task. He must have had very powerful lawyers taking care of this acquisition. I just hope that his cheer leaders and the victims they have condemned to landlessness had some legal representation through whom they can channel their disatisfaction.

People like Mr. Calvin Burgess love Africa for it natural resources. They have no respect for its people including those bribe prone elites in or outside the government. These cheer leaders did not give a damn about the poor people around the area and may have helped   condemn these   poor land owners and their offspring to permanent  life in slums cities; which seem to be the only progress our elected leaders are capable of creating.

In his recent letter to Francis Odundo jaKarateng,   Mr. Burgess is referring to the people living around his farm as  "YOUR PEOPLE" indicating the level of detachment from and contempt for these poor people. He feels that this matter should not be discussed in a public forum. Well, the public forum was very useful to  him while seeking the acquisition the property. Come on, who is kidding who here! In many parts of Africa, corporations employ private security to protect their properties. I t will be surprising if Mr. Burgess has not already employed a bunch of these deadly guys.

The the following are some cheer leaders who must explain why they were very supportive of Mr. Burgess and what they got in return. Can't Kenyans do farming on their land and feed its own people? Are we so lazy that our people have to get donated money from people who make profit of our land and bring back a small partion of it as charitable aid to our poor country men? This is mind boggling.

It is very important that our young people understand the value of land. Fierce wars are fought over land and its values and should not be given out for bribes. I have gathered that poor people were being given shillings 43,000/= for pieces of their land despite the fact the family members are buried on these grounds. Thumb prints were used to snatch the lands which have been passed over to sons for generations.

It seems like the younger Luos born in towns do not know the value of land.    WELL BABIIES, PEOPLE GO TO WARS OVER LAND AND ITS VALUES. The Luos seem to be eager to give it away for a bottle of beer!!! Do not get me wrong, I am a Luo too (not a fake one). Our young people seem to be mentally detached from land  and its worth.
